Southampton, England, United Kingdom
The University of Southampton's climbing wall is part of the extension to the Jubilee Sport and Recreation Centre on Highfield Campus, which opened in September 2024 alongside new squash courts, studios and a cycling studio. It is run by the university's sport team and is open to students, staff and members of the public.
Everyone needs an induction before their first session, and a risk acknowledgement form before each one. Sessions are booked through the UoS Sport app, by email, by phone or at reception. You must be 17 or older to book; younger climbers must be accompanied by an adult member and need an under-18s waiver.
Climbing shoes are compulsory, and harnesses on the auto-belays. Both can be hired for £3 each (free for inductions), and chalk is sold at reception. Monthly Plus and annual members climb free; everyone else pays per session.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
