Trollheimen Klatresenter is a small climbing gym in Surnadal that opened in 2019. It is in the basement of Landbrukshuset, next door to the Atleta gym, with its entrance from Moavegen. Most of the climbing is bouldering, spread over two floors, with problems at every grade from complete beginner to experienced, and there is also a small rope wall.
The centre runs bouldering competitions in rounds (the latest round listed on its website had 41 problems), and climbers can follow news and track their own progress through the website. It also takes enquiries about children's birthday parties, training and courses.
The centre is open from 06:00 to 21:00 every day. Adults pay NOK 100 for a drop-in visit, there are child and family tickets as well as monthly and annual cards, and shoes and harnesses can be hired. Members of Surnadal Taekwon-Do-klubb get discounted membership. The website doesn't set out rules or certificate requirements for the rope wall, so ask the centre before planning to climb on a rope.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
