Exeter, England, United Kingdom
The Quay Climbing Centre sits in Exeter's historic Quayside Quarter, sharing its building with Clip 'n Climb Exeter. It has been run since 2011 by the same independent, locally owned team that later opened Boulder Exe, a bouldering centre a short walk away, and a multisite membership covers both.
A training gym has a rig, benches, dumbbells up to 40kg, kettlebells, fingerboards and pull-up bars. The Workshop Café serves drinks, cakes, paninis and daily specials, with occasional sourdough pizza nights. Harnesses, shoes, belay devices and chalk can be hired.
Beginners can book a one-hour auto-belay and bouldering intro or a two-session belay induction. Further courses include Mastering Climbing Movement, Step Up to Lead and 1:1 coaching. Juniors have Rockstars (4 to 7), Monquays (7 to 11), a NICAS youth club (11 to 17) and youth squads. The lead wall hosts regional competitions such as the South West Lead Climbing Competition.
