The Hangar is a bouldering-only gym on Sechelt Inlet Road in Sechelt, founded in 2017 with the backing of the Sunshine Coast climbing community. It has about 2,000 sq ft of wall above more than a foot of foam flooring, and one hold colour is stripped and reset every week. Problems are graded with coloured tags on the V scale, from VB up to V7 and harder; there are no top-outs, and a problem counts as sent with both hands on the final hold.
Drop-in climbers aged 5 and over can visit during public hours on Monday and Wednesday evenings and weekend afternoons. Members get round-the-clock access with their own door code, although members under 16 must be supervised by a parent outside public hours. Climbing shoes are compulsory and can be rented, along with chalk bags and bouldering pads.

“Great little gym! I liked the route setting and cozy atmosphere. But it was very hot / stuffy even though it's only 18C outside… $20 for drop in is a fair price”
“Great place to practice bouldering with good variety of holds, grounded vibe, and lovely accommodating staff. My daughter had a great time…”
“…Nice area for beginners ^_^. Friendly staff. Area looks clean. Bathroom is clean. You can rent their shoes, it looks clean. It gets kinda busy on a weekend…”
