Jindabyne, New South Wales, Australia
Stone Monkeys is an independent indoor bouldering gym in an industrial unit on Baggs Street, Jindabyne, in the Snowy Mountains. It opened in late 2024 and was a finalist for outstanding new business in the 2026 Snowy Monaro Business Awards. Its pitch is simple: somewhere to climb, train and hang out when the snow is poor or the wind closes the lifts.
The gym flooded in April 2026. The damage proved worse than first thought: the crash mats had to be thrown away, and the gym said it would stay shut until replacements arrived, which could take several months. In October 2026 its Instagram still said it was closed for repairs, so check there before you travel.
A day pass is $25 for adults and $20 for youths aged 10 to 16 and students with ID, and shoe hire is $7. Week passes, 10-visit passes, a winter season pass and memberships from one month to a year are also sold. Climbers must be at least 10, and under-18s need a parent or guardian to sign the online waiver. A small pro shop sells climbing shoes, chalk and accessories.
