SPRING is the climbing hall of vereniging Spring, a club on the Winkelstraat in Duffel. It was founded in 1996 to promote trampolining, and climbing has since become its main activity; the club marked 30 years in 2026 with a new logo. The hall is mostly bouldering, with a few short rope routes that are ideal for learning rope work, both top roping and leading.
It opens four evenings a week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the club's volunteer instructors run supervised sessions: primary-school children climb from 19:00 to 20:00, then 12 to 16-year-olds and adults, who get help with technique and how to train. Mondays and Wednesdays are unsupervised sessions for climbers aged 16 and over, or a parent with a child. Newcomers are welcome to try a session.
Sessions must be booked online, because the club limits numbers to keep the hall from getting crowded. Everyone fills in a registration form. Climbers covered by KBF membership or their own accident insurance need nothing more, and others can take out the club's insurance. Through the year the club runs its own bouldering competition, the Minimuur, night-climbing evenings on the ropes and an open day in September.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
- The €6 single session is a trial; regular climbers buy a card
- 10 sessions: €50; 20 sessions: €80; 40 sessions: €140 (cards never expire and can be shared by people at the same address)
- Insurance: none needed for KBF members or climbers with their own accident cover; otherwise club insurance through FROS for €16 a year
