Genk, Limburg, Belgium
The climbing hall at Sport Vlaanderen Genk has an 11-metre wall with more than ten routes, in the sports centre that the Flemish government's sports agency runs at Kattevennen in Genk. The centre also has indoor and outdoor ski slopes, a dirt park and mountain-bike trails, and accommodation for sports camps and weekends, with beds for up to 112 people.
There is no drop-in climbing. Individuals, groups and schools book the hall by the hour by email and climb with their own instructor, and harnesses and belay devices are available on request. Schools can also book climbing as a sports activity, and clubs and federations can combine it with a sports stay or a weekend at the centre. The centre is open from 08:00 on weekdays and Saturdays and from 09:00 on Sundays, with shorter hours in the summer months, and closes on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
