Ronse, East Flanders, Belgium
Spero Ronse is a climbing and caving club with its own climbing room in 't Rosco, the city's sports hall on the Leuzesesteenweg, where it has climbed since the hall opened in 2006. Besides climbing on the wall, the club takes its members rock climbing, caving and canyoning, and organises club weekends and trips abroad.
The wall is used for top-rope climbing. The club climbs on weekday evenings: Monday and Thursday from 19:00 to 21:00 and Tuesday until 22:00. Youth lessons for children from eight run on Wednesday and Friday evenings in small groups, but not in the school holidays, and young climbers don't need their own gear. The youth groups are full at the moment, with a waiting list.
There are no day tickets: the wall is for Spero's members, who may be asked to show their membership card and identity card in the climbing room. Membership runs by calendar year or half-year and covers the use of the climbing room and insurance through the Flemish caving federation (VVS). Members who already hold KBF insurance pay only the club's share.
