Sogndal, Vestland, Norway
Sogndal Klatresenter is the climbing centre on the campus in Sogndal, run together with Idrettssenteret and its Spenst gym, with its roped walls in Sognahallen, the big indoor sports hall. The first wall went up in 1998 and the main wall in 2006, and the centre was extended in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
Climbing in Sognahallen is open during staffed hours, and everyone registers at reception before climbing. Under-18s need a guardian's signature, and under-13s must come with an adult. Roped climbing needs a Brattkort, auto-belays need a Brattkort or the centre's auto-belay training, and bouldering needs neither; the centre runs Brattkort and auto-belay courses, and training groups for children and young people. Members can also use the bouldering room from 05:00 to 24:00 every day, using the Spenst app as their key. Climbing in Sognahallen closes on some days for football matches.
