Saltwater Reserve Bouldering Wall is a free outdoor climbing wall in Saltwater Reserve, the large multi-sport reserve that Wyndham City Council runs on Saltwater Promenade in Point Cook. It stands in the middle of the reserve, north of the tennis courts and the basketball half courts, and the council lists it among the facilities anyone in the community can use.
It is a long, low run of angled pale panels studded with holds, partly sheltered by a sloping canopy, with rubber safety surfacing along its whole length. There are no overhanging sections, so it suits traversing and easy to moderate problems. A plaque on the wall sets out three colour circuits: orange for beginners, green once you have mastered the orange, and red as the advanced challenge. It also suggests using fewer holds to make any circuit harder.
The reserve also has a playground, barbecues, a dog park and public toilets at the football and cricket pavilion.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
