East Setauket, New York, United States
Rocksteady is a family-owned bouldering gym in an 11,000-square-foot unit at the rear of 4016 Nesconset Highway in East Setauket, on Long Island's north shore. It opened to members in August 2026 and to the public on 15 August, with a grand-opening party in September. More than 6,000 square feet of the space is climbable: bouldering walls with overhangs, a roof and slabs, graded with a tag system, plus 20-foot auto-belay lanes.
No experience is needed: staff give first-timers a bouldering orientation, and one-to-one or group sessions with the gym's coaches can be booked. Children aged 8 to 12 can climb in the main area with a spotter, and from 13 on their own after the orientation. Shoes and harnesses are for hire, and there is a snack bar, gear and merchandise for sale, and seating with wifi for working between sessions. Sign the waiver online before a first visit. Birthday parties use the kids' corner and a private party room.

“Absolutely love this place. Great climbs and warm community feel. So glad to finally have a gym like this close to home.”
“…variety of climbs available like overhung, roof, and slabs. Tons of bouldering!! They go by a tag system when it comes to grading and I feel like that makes climbs less intimidating to try.”
“This is a great spot for the community and the kids area is awesome! My kids had so much fun and didn’t want to leave.”
