Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada
Project Climbing Centre's Chilliwack gym opened in summer 2022 as the third gym of the Fraser Valley group, after Abbotsford (2009) and Cloverdale (2016). It's in The Eddy, a riverside shopping hub on Vedder Mountain Road, seconds from the Vedder River. It's mainly a bouldering gym, with Walltopia walls up to 15 feet high, caves, slabs and a top-out boulder, plus an auto-belay wall built for beginners. A fitness mezzanine overlooking the walls has a power rack, dumbbells, a bench and gymnastic rings.
Drop-ins are welcome, and every new climber gets an orientation. The minimum age is 5 (7 and over recommended): a parent must supervise children aged 13 and under, staying within arm's reach of five- and six-year-olds, and drop-in groups of children are limited to four. Memberships and punch passes also cover the Abbotsford gym, but not Cloverdale.
