Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
OnSight Climbing is an independent, bouldering-only gym on Aristoc Road in Glen Waverley, in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. A group of climbing friends opened it in 2022, and it calls itself a little big gym: smaller than the city's large centres, with a loyal community and a relaxed, homely feel. Pets are welcome, as long as they stay off the crash mats.
The freestanding boulders are set in-house in an outdoor style and graded on the V-scale, and regulars rate the setting as creative and technical rather than easy. Behind the main walls is a 2016 MoonBoard with a couch beside it, and a training area with free weights, a power rack and hangboards. For breaks there is free tea, a Japanese vending machine stocked with drinks, energy bars and an outdoor spot away from the chalk.

“Setting is decent, and I love the 2016 moonboard in the back. … My only cons are poor ventilation in the moonboard area particularly, and a lack of air conditioning, although I did go on a warm day.”
“Very small climbing gym with a mood board set up. The route setting is super cool and interesting, would recommend if you like the V-scale grading.”
