Schwertberg, Upper Austria, Austria
The Naturfreunde Schwertberg group built this small bouldering room in the old fire station in Winden, a village in Schwertberg, and opened it in October 2017. The room is about 24 m² and can be climbed on every side, with around 750 holds, and it has rental shoes.
Entry is by chip card, which opens the door between 05:00 and 21:00 every day. Day passes, 10-visit cards and 6- or 12-month cards are sold at two shops, Trafik Starzer in Schwertberg and Elektro Karlinger in Winden, so check their opening hours, and you fill in a registration form before your first climb. At most eight people can climb at once, so reserve a slot in the group's online calendar; the room is closed during the group's children's courses.
Climbing is unsupervised. Children under 15 must come with an adult who takes responsibility for them, and 15- to 17-year-olds can climb on their own with a parent's signature on the registration form. Climbing shoes or gym slippers only. Groups and children's parties can book the room through the calendar.
