Klivrehallen

Klivrehallen is the roped climbing hall inside Ulstein Arena, the leisure centre in Ulsteinvik that also houses the Ulsteinbadet pool, a sports hall and the library. The arena runs it in cooperation with the local climbing club Klivrelaget. The walls have lead and top-rope lines, and there are three auto-belays.

Visiting

The hall is open during the arena's opening hours, 08:00–21:00 on weekdays and 11:00–17:00 at weekends, for climbers with a Brattkort; in school holidays it keeps the same hours as Ulsteinbadet. You pay at the arena's desk, where you can also hire equipment or buy a combined swim-and-climb ticket. On Monday evenings (18:00–20:00) Klivrelaget runs a supervised open session for members and non-members. The club also holds supervised children's climbing for school years 3–6 every other Monday, junior climbing for ages 13 and over on Thursdays, and club climbing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The hall's calendar shows courses, supervised sessions and reserved times.

Certificates and courses

Only climbers with a Brattkort or a top-rope card may belay. Klivrelaget runs Brattkort courses (NOK 1,500, or NOK 1,250 for members), top-rope courses (NOK 800, members NOK 600) and Brattkort tests, announced on Facebook and Spond. Club members who pay the training fee can collect a key card from the arena's reception, and the fee also covers the club's 24-hour bouldering silo, BuldreSiloen, at Osnes, which has its own digital key.
