Ghent, East Flanders, Belgium
Klimzaal Arsenaal opened on 5 November 2025 in Hal 5A of the Arsenaal site in Gentbrugge, which the Belgian railways used from the late 19th century until 2018 and which is now being redeveloped, with sport and events in its old halls for the time being. The plywood walls stand under the hall's timber roof and skylights. It is run by the company behind Rhino Boulder Gym, and its subscriptions and multi-visit cards also work at Rhino and Klimzaal Bleau.
The adult zone has 800 m² of bouldering, with a Kilter Board on an adjustable frame. A separate 235 m² kids' zone has its own climbing walls and a Clip 'n Climb area of colourful challenges up to 7 metres high, all on auto-belays, for anyone from the age of four. Clip 'n Climb sessions last 90 minutes, including a briefing and equipment, and places are limited, so booking online is strongly recommended; bouldering needs no booking.
The air-conditioned bar is the heart of the hall, with a menu of food and drinks, and the shop stocks climbing gear. Adults can take a one-off introduction, a beginners' series, an advanced series or themed workshops, and children have a climbing club and lessons.
Parking on the site is free, with more than 200 spaces. The hall is open every day, including public holidays, until 23:00 on weekdays and 21:30 at weekends, and the bar stays open an hour or half an hour longer.
