Klimkaffee Mechelen is a bouldering hall on the Douaneplein, close to Mechelen station and Nekkerspoel. It opened in September 2018 and is the first of Klimkaffee's two halls; the second is in Herentals. The walls reach 4.5 metres above thick mats, with about 950 m² of climbing and more than 160 boulders over eight levels, and new problems go up every week across the two halls. No booking is needed.
The Kaffee is half the point: coffee by day, a long list of beers in the evening and a terrace outside. The hall runs a full events programme, with a monthly comedy open mic, themed parties and a 24-hour charity climb for De Warmste Week in December 2026, and it hosts a round of the Regional Climbing Youth Cup in January 2027.
Lesson series run through the school year: Maki's for ages 5 to 8, Chimps for 9 to 12, Bonobo's for over-12s and a technique course for adult beginners. Children can boulder from the age of 6 with an adult supervising, and on their own from 12; at busy times staff may ask a parent to stay on the mat with each child. Birthday parties, school visits and company outings can be booked.

“Super friendly staff and cool place to hang. The easy boulders are too hard and the hard boulders don't have much difference in the level … Good smoothies!”
