Großraming, Upper Austria, Austria
Kletterzentrum Großraming is the Alpenverein Großraming section's open-air climbing centre at the Aschasiedlung, beside the Eisenstraße. The tower is roofed, so it stays dry in the rain and can be climbed all year. Its walls cover about 600 m² and reach 13.5 metres, with overhangs and around 60 routes from grade 3 to 8a that are reset regularly, and four top-ropes stay in place permanently. There's also a free-standing boulder block and an anchor for a slackline, and floodlights let you climb from 09:00 to 22:00 every day.
The centre isn't staffed: the entrance key is available from the Reisinger petrol station against a deposit. The family-friendly grounds have a barbecue area with seating, and coffee is free. Under-10s must be supervised by an adult; 10- to 17-year-olds may climb at club events, or with a parent's written consent and a current proof of competence such as a Kletterschein. Lead climbers must clip every quickdraw, overhanging sections can't be top-roped, and animals aren't allowed.
The section offers climbing courses for adults and children for groups of two or more, children's climbing from age six, and therapy climbing.
