About

The Alpenverein's hall in Straßwalchen

Kletterhalle Straßwalchen is the climbing hall of the Alpenverein's Straßwalchen group (Ortsgruppe Straßwalchen of the Sektion Salzburg), in the school complex at Aichbergstraße 1. The group rebuilt it in 2017 with funding from the municipality: the walls went from 7.5 to 13.5 metres high, with about 260 m² of climbing and routes marked by hold colour.

Who can climb

The hall isn't open to the public. Free climbing is for registered Alpenverein members at limited times, so check with the group before you go. Others can climb on courses: the climbing school Grifffest runs children's courses for ages 6 to 12, parent-and-child courses and beginners' courses here through the autumn and winter. The group also holds its youth club championships in the hall.
