Kletterhalle Steinbrunn is the Naturfreunde Burgenland's climbing hall inside the Landessportzentrum VIVA, Burgenland's state sports centre at Steinbrunn-Neue Siedlung, near the Neufelder See. It has 315 m² of roped climbing walls up to 11 metres high and a bouldering wall of about 80 m², with routes graded from UIAA 4 to 9.
The hall keeps the sports centre's opening hours, but it's blocked at times for club courses and closes for some events in the centre, so phone the VIVA reception before every visit. Naturfreunde members get reduced entry. The centre also has three indoor tennis courts, a ball-sports hall, a fitness room, bowling lanes, a sauna that can be booked and a hotel, which makes it a base for training camps and groups.
The Naturfreunde Burgenland run climbing courses at the hall through the season, built on a recognised module system; the autumn 2026 courses started on 12 October. Courses can also be arranged on request, and you book them with the Naturfreunde.
