About

Climbing with a view of the Drachenwand

Kletterhalle Mondsee is part of the MYGYM PRIME fitness club on Prielhofstraße, with 1,280 m² of climbing indoors and out and panoramic windows looking across to the Drachenwand. The tall walls, built by Walltopia, carry top-rope and lead routes, and auto-belays let you climb on your own. The indoor bouldering area has curved 3D walls, and new boulders are put up regularly. The club's gym and sauna are under the same roof, and climbers can add a sauna ticket.

Visiting

Register online before your first visit, then pay at reception, collect an access card and check in at the turnstile. Under-18s need the registration form signed by a parent or guardian, under-14s must be supervised by one, and children under six who climb need a supervisor who isn't climbing. Ropes must be at least 40 metres long, and partners check each other before every climb. Shoes, harnesses, ropes and belay devices can be hired, and there are lockers. Climbing stops 30 minutes before closing time. Monthly subscribers start with a welcome session covering the safety rules.

Courses

Taster sessions, beginner courses and bouldering courses are run by the Kletterschule Markus Eder; book through klettertraining-mondsee.at.
