The Jenbach section of the Austrian Alpenverein opened this climbing hall on Huberstraße on 8 November 2014, and its clubhouse, the Basislager, is in the same building. The lead and top-rope hall has about 350 m² of climbing on walls 12 metres high, with 30 to 40 routes from UIAA 4 to 9+, and a separate bouldering room adds about 60 m² of walls 3.5 metres high. Several times a year professional route setters strip selected routes and put up new lines, and the hall closes while they work.
Every Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00 the hall is open to everyone, except on public holidays and in the school holidays, and beginners can try climbing then. At other times you need an access card, which lets you climb every day from 08:00 to 22:00. Cards are sold at the section's office hour on Thursday evenings, and only to members of an alpine club (the Alpenverein, the Naturfreunde or the mountain rescue) aged 14 and over. The hall is closed to other climbers during the large children's and youth training sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays, and the Jenbach clubs' groups have priority at other times.
Only assisted-braking belay devices such as the Grigri, Click Up or Smart may be used: tubers, the Reverso, ATCs and Italian hitches are banned. Ropes must be at least 30 metres long. Children under 14 must be supervised by a parent or guardian, and under-18s need written permission from a parent to climb on their own.
