About

The climbing wall in Enns

Kletterhalle Enns is a 208 m² climbing wall in the Dreifachsporthalle on Hanuschstraße, the town's triple sports hall. It's shared by two clubs: the Alpenverein's Neugablonz-Enns section runs it on Tuesday and Friday evenings, and the Naturfreunde Enns on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Climbing here

The Alpenverein sessions run from late September to the end of May, except in the Upper Austrian school holidays and on public holidays. Tuesdays (18:00 to 21:30) are for independent climbing. On Fridays there's supervised climbing from 17:30 for children who have done a course, and parent-and-child climbing from age 6, where parents learn to belay their children under supervision, followed by open climbing from 19:00. The Naturfreunde sessions run from 19:00 to 21:00, with supervised children's climbing on Mondays from 17:30.

Everyone registers once before their first climb, confirming what they can do as climber and belayer (under-18s need a parent's signature), and then climbs on their own responsibility. Shoes and harnesses can be hired, and newcomers can arrange a taster session by email. The section runs courses for children, young people and adults each autumn, and also has a small bouldering room, the Bouldergrotte, at its office at Neugablonz 10, with free taster sessions on Monday evenings.
