About

Halden Klatreklubb – Porsneshallen

Halden Klatreklubb's indoor climbing wall is in the gym hall at Porsnes upper secondary school (Porsnes vgs) in Halden. The club runs regular sessions on it and says the wall is open to members and anyone else who is interested.

Climbing

The wall is split into four faces with roped routes. The club's route list from February 2025 has 24 routes, graded from 4 to 8- on the Norwegian scale.

Sessions

  • Wednesdays 17:30–20:00: a club hall warden is on duty until 19:00 most weeks outside school holidays. Newcomers can try climbing, and members can borrow equipment. The warden opens the door between 17:25 and 17:30, so arrive on time.
  • Mondays and Fridays 16:00–20:00: only for climbers with a top-rope card, Brattkort or lead card and their own equipment. There is no regular door-opener, and the school's doors need an access card, so come with someone who has one.

Joining

Membership costs NOK 100 a year, or NOK 200 for a family, and is arranged through the Norwegian sports federation's (NIF) online membership system. The club also runs Brattkort courses for top-rope and lead belaying, and publishes guides to the outdoor crags around Halden.
