Grotto Climbing Cave (Grande Cache Recreation Centre)

The Grotto

The Grotto Climbing Cave is an indoor climbing cave inside the Grande Cache Recreation Centre on Hoppe Avenue, run by the Municipal District of Greenview. It's aimed at climbers of all ages, with angled walls set with colourful holds. The centre around it has a 25 m pool and a leisure pool with a lazy river, an NHL-sized arena, a curling rink, a fitness centre and party rooms, with Central Park and its spray park next door.

Visiting

• The cave opens for drop-in sessions, rentals and special programmes, but times aren't published online, so call the Recreation Centre on 780-827-2446 to check drop-in times or book a party.
• The centre is open from 06:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and from 09:00 to 21:00 at weekends.
• Visitors wear a wristband in the centre's activity areas. Food, drinks (apart from water in non-glass bottles), bags and coats aren't allowed in those areas, and there are coin lockers in the changing rooms.
• Parents and guardians are responsible for their children while they're in the centre.
