The Climbing Collective in downtown Greeley

Greeley Climbing Collective is the third gym of the Climbing Collective, which also runs Longmont and Loveland Climbing Collective. It sits on 8th Avenue in downtown Greeley and celebrated its grand opening weekend in April 2025. Members can choose a Greeley-only membership or an all-access one that covers all three gyms.

The climbing

The gym combines bouldering with roped walls, several of them fitted with auto-belays, and lead climbing for those who have passed the lead test. Regulars single out a low-angle slab boulder and a big arch-shaped boulder, and there is a MoonBoard for training. The setters reset the boulders and routes regularly, and the gym hosts USA Climbing youth bouldering competitions.

Classes and programmes

  • Adults: a two-hour Intro to Climbing clinic, Belay Basics, a two-session Learn to Lead course and one-to-one coaching.
  • Fitness and yoga: classes such as Strength & Conditioning, H.I.I.T. + Core and Learn to Lift, and yoga with Shri Yoga, sometimes on the rooftop patio; both are included with a day pass or membership.
  • Kids: youth climbing clubs, a climbing team, Kids' Mornings on Friday mornings and holiday camps.

On Friday evenings, students and teachers can climb for $9.

- Kids' Mornings, Fridays 10:00 - 12:00 (age 12 and under): $10 including shoes and harness

- Rental: shoes $7, harness $6, belay device $5, chalk bag $4, full package $14 a day ($20 a month recurring)
