Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Gravity Worx is an independent climbing gym on Sussex Street in Pascoe Vale, in Melbourne's north, open since 15 December 2016. It began as a lead and speed climbing centre and finished a bouldering section in 2021, so it now covers all three Olympic disciplines. Sport Climbing Victoria named it Gym of the Year in 2019, and two long-standing members of its team took it over in May 2026.
The tall roped walls hold 120+ routes for top-rope and lead climbing, with Australian number grades, 15 auto-belays for climbing solo and new routes most weeks. Lead climbers are signed off with a walk-in assessment rather than a course. A 15-metre speed wall built to IFSC specifications hosts Sport Climbing Victoria speed competitions, and the bouldering section was rebuilt and reopened in June 2026.
Children of any age can climb with a parent belaying, and climbers must be 13 to belay. Staff give every new climber a short safety induction, and no booking is needed for open climbing.
Harnesses, shoes and chalk bags can be hired, and chalk and accessories are sold at the desk. There is a party room, more than 20 parking spaces on site, and Batman and Merlynston stations on the Upfield line are nearby.

“Great for beginners and adults getting into it for the first time. … There's a warm up area, small bouldering area, bathrooms and skills section including crack climbing, speed climbing and ropes.”
