EnnisRock is an indoor bouldering centre at Unit 2, Tempo Road Business Park, on the edge of Enniskillen in County Fermanagh. There are no ropes or harnesses: problems are set on walls of around four to five metres above thick matting, for complete beginners up to experienced climbers. A separate junior wall is set aside for the youngest climbers.
Everyone registers with the centre first, which is free and done online after watching a short induction video. Registration opens a booking diary two weeks ahead, where you choose and pay for a climbing slot. Every first visit starts with a compulsory 15 to 20-minute induction on the centre's rules, even for experienced climbers. Walk-ins are taken when a slot has space.
Under-18s must be supervised by a registered adult unless they have passed RockStar+, with one-to-one supervision for ages 4 to 6. Opening times vary, so check the centre's social media before travelling.
“Plenty of problems to keep it interesting. Perfect way to wind down after work or spend an interesting hour on the weekend.”
“We had a really good induction and warm up, and were climbing within 15 minutes… Climbs up to V4, but they have not been set soft, and you have to use techniques well to get a V4.”
