Dino Moves

Nederland's own bouldering gym

Dino Moves opened in February 2023 as the first climbing gym in Nederland, the mountain town at the top of Boulder Canyon. Two local residents set it up so the town had somewhere to climb and train, and Eldo Walls built the climbing walls. It runs as an unstaffed, members-only gym: there are no day passes, and members let themselves in at any hour of the day or night.

Climbing and training

• Bouldering: about 1,000 sq ft of walls with a slab, a cave, an arête, and both a hand crack and a finger crack.
• Boards: a 12 ft Kilter Board that works with the Kilter app, plus a campus board.
• Strength and fitness: pull-up bars, a squat rack and bench, a barbell, kettlebells, a treadmill and an assault bike, alongside rigs for aerial fitness.
• Facilities: showers, with towels and soap provided.

Joining

Membership costs $55 a month with a $40 initiation fee, and it can be frozen for $10 a month. To join, email the gym, which sets new members up with access within 24 hours; a tour of the space can be arranged first. Members' children under seven climb free alongside their parent or guardian, and the space can be booked for private events such as birthday parties.
