Adana, Turkey
Çukurova University's climbing wall stands at one end of the Sakıp Sabancı Spor ve Sergi Sarayı, a 5,250 m² hall with three courts on the Balcalı campus in Sarıçam, Adana. It has three sections: a speed wall 10.5 m high and 3 m wide, a lead wall 12 m high and 5 m wide that overhangs by about 48 per cent, and a shorter wall for beginners. Photos from a 2018 bouldering championship show a matted bouldering wall below it.
The Turkish Mountaineering Federation held national lead and bouldering championships here between 2017 and 2021, plus route-setting and judging courses in 2018, and the university's mountaineering club, ÇÜDAK, held its fifth climbing festival and competition in the hall in 2018. The walls were still standing in March 2026, when the hall hosted a sitting volleyball Super League stage.
In 2014, instructors from the School of Physical Education and Sports, now the Faculty of Sport Sciences, taught climbing on the wall, which was used by the university's students, academics and administrative staff. No public sessions, opening hours or prices are published, so contact the university's sports directorate about climbing here.
