Leicester, England, United Kingdom
Climb Leicester - The Tower is Leicester City Council's climbing centre, inside Leicester Leys Leisure Centre in Beaumont Leys. It caters for everyone from first-timers to strong climbers, across three areas.
A training area in the Bloc has a campus board, fingerboards, pull-up bars and TRX stations.
You can turn up and boulder during opening hours, with an induction included in the entry fee. Roped climbers who already know how to climb take a quick competency check on their first visit, so call ahead. For beginners there are 45-minute taster sessions, a three-week adult course, a learn-to-lead course, a parent and child course and NICAS lessons for juniors aged eight and up. Juniors must be supervised by an adult member or instructor. Shoes, harnesses and belay devices can be hired, and memberships can be combined with the leisure centre's gym and pool.
