Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Climb Fit Kirrawee is the largest of Climb Fit's three Sydney gyms: a venue of more than 3,500 m² on Waratah Street in Kirrawee, in the Sutherland Shire, with free parking on site. A Climb Fit membership also covers the St Leonards and Macquarie Park gyms.
About 1,200 m² of roped walls hold more than 120 routes, with four auto-belays for climbing without a partner, and the gym's arch carries lead routes up to grade 28. Routes change every week. Lead climbers pass a $5 assessment and must belay with an assisted-braking device. The 250 m² bouldering area has more than 65 problems, from vertical walls to roofs, and is fully reset every six weeks. For training there is a 12 x 12 ft Kilter Board at 40 degrees and a rig with a campus board, rings and Beastmaker hangboards. Children have their own area with themed walls; roped climbing starts at age 4 and bouldering at 12.
The air-conditioned gym has cardio and strength equipment and a yoga room, and its yoga, abs and core and functional fitness classes are free with entry. There is also an infrared sauna, changing rooms with lockers, and coffee on site.
