Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada
Climb Base5's Coquitlam gym on Brigantine Drive is the former Cliffhanger Coquitlam and the sister gym of Climb Base5 North Vancouver: one membership covers both. Base5 describes it as bright and expansive, with 45-foot walls offering slabs, cracks, roofs and vertical to steep lead climbs, and bouldering up to 14 feet. In 2015 it commissioned a competition-style bouldering wall from Walltopia.
There's top-rope and lead climbing, six auto-belays for climbing without a partner, and bouldering, with new climbs set every week, plus strength equipment and lockers. No booking is needed: first-time visitors get an orientation, and climbers aged 13 and under must be supervised by an adult.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
