About

Centre Multisports André-Chagnon

The Centre Multisports André-Chagnon is a large sports and fitness centre on boulevard de la Gare in Vaudreuil-Dorion, run by a non-profit organisation. It opened in October 2012 and, besides its climbing, has two training gyms, a 200 m indoor track, four tennis courts, badminton and pickleball courts, and group fitness classes.

Climbing

The 10 m roped wall has a speed route, a playful robot-themed face and several auto-belays, so climbers on their own can climb without a partner. Next to it, a bouldering wall needs no equipment and is a good place to learn moves or warm up. Routes are changed regularly.

Visiting

Climbing is open to everyone in set sessions that must be booked online; in October 2026 these ran on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturday afternoons. A visit costs $15 plus tax, with equipment included apart from climbing shoes, which can be hired. The centre's Gym memberships include climbing, but members need an accreditation before using the wall. Children can climb from the age of 5, and under-14s must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Courses

Certified instructors teach small-group courses to FQME standards: a three-hour top-rope belay course for ages 14 and up, and a lead course for climbers aged 16 and up who climb at least 5.9. There are children's courses from age 4 (with a parent for the youngest) and Altitude-FIT Escalade, a strength and conditioning class built around climbing.
