A mountain camp with three climbing walls

Camp IdRaHaJe is a Christian camp and retreat centre in the Rocky Mountains at Bailey, half a mile off US 285, and has been running since 1948. It is known for week-long summer camps, Mountain Lab outdoor education and winter retreats, and climbing is one of its main adventure activities.

• Climbing Tower: a six-sided, custom-built outdoor tower 45 feet high.
• The Rock Barn: an indoor climbing wall attached to the Gym and Education Center, given as 42 feet high on the facilities page and 45 feet on the 2025 activities sheet.
• Boulder House: an indoor bouldering area with a mechanical climbing wall, for ages 9 and up.

Rock and ropes

Staff also run low rappelling on a 30-foot cliff, a 150-foot rappel at the end of a mile-long hike, and outdoor rock climbing on routes of about 60 feet at the same site, with all technical equipment provided. High ropes elements, a 670-foot zip line and team-building packages complete the programme.

Who can climb

The walls are climbed by summer campers, outdoor-education groups and retreat groups, who add climbing to their stay; the camp publishes no public climbing sessions. On the 2025 sheet the tower, the Rock Barn and the Boulder House each cost $10 per person, with a group minimum, and outdoor climbing $20. Autumn Homeschool Days include climbing classes for children. Groups book through the office on (303) 838-5668.
