The town of Gleisdorf built this bouldering room in a side room of the Mittelschule's sports hall on Alois-Grogger-Gasse, fulfilling a long-held wish of the local Alpenverein, and opened it on 13 January 2016. It has 63 m² of climbing on walls up to 3.3 metres high, with overhangs of up to 2 metres. The problems are graded with a colour system, from easy ones for children to harder ones for experienced boulderers.
The room is open on school days, Monday to Friday, from 16:00 to 22:00. Schools, clubs and other groups can book extra sessions. The Alpenverein Gleisdorf is the contact for information and bookings. Children under 14 may only climb with a supervising adult, and you need clean indoor shoes or climbing shoes: climbing barefoot isn't allowed.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
- Alpenverein members: €2
- Children's and youth groups from other schools or clubs: €1.50 each; supervisors free
