About

The Sportunion's bouldering hall

The Sportunion Tarrenz runs this bouldering hall in the old part of the fire station building on Hauptstraße in Tarrenz, near Imst. It has about 100 m² of bouldering walls set at a range of angles, with an overhang, wooden rung walls and a campus board (the club calls it a Güllich board), plus a small cave for young children. It's aimed at every level, for individuals and groups alike.

Getting in

The hall runs mainly on annual cards, which go on sale each October and run from 1 October to 1 October. Non-members can buy one too. Card holders get the door code by email and can climb every day from 08:00 to 21:30. Single entries and taster visits are arranged with the hall's contact in advance.

Children up to 14 must be with an adult, and anyone 15 or older needs at least one person with climbing or bouldering experience there. Alcohol and smoking are banned, and as the hall is in a residential building, the club asks climbers to be considerate. Park behind the fire station, then take the stairs to the cellar entrance at the back or walk round the new building to the front entrance; the hall's door, with its code lock, is on the first floor of the old building.

From 3 November 2026 the club's Kraxlgeist bouldering course for primary- and middle-school children runs in the hall on Tuesday evenings.
