The Boulderhalle Kraftwerk is the bouldering hall of Das Kraftwerk, a family and leisure centre in a former shopping centre on Funderstraße in Althofen. Its 222 m² of Walltopia walls, up to 4.5 metres high, fill a hall of about 350 m², with problems for beginners through to experts that change every week. The training area has a Quantum board, a campus board, Beastmaker hangboards and a suspension trainer. A children's play corner inside the bouldering area stays in sight of parents, and there's an outdoor chill-out area.
The centre also has a two-storey indoor playground, a virtual-reality arena and a café serving coffee, breakfast, pizza and snacks, and combined tickets cover the playground and VR too. Climbing shoes are compulsory and can be hired for a small fee, and only liquid chalk is allowed, to keep dust out of the play and VR areas. Parents are responsible for supervising their children. Bouldering courses for small groups run on weekdays in step with the school semester, for children aged 4 to 13, young people aged 14 to 17 and adults, and there are summer climbing camps. A separate course room hosts yoga, acrobatics and fitness classes, and the centre offers children's birthday parties and team-building packages.
