Bloc Spot is the bouldering hall of the Murtal, on Bundesstraße in Zeltweg. It has over 1,000 m² of floor space and 600 m² of walls up to 4.5 metres high above 30 cm of foam matting, with about 110 colour-marked boulders on the hall's own scale, from "Newcomer" and "Rookie" upwards. The team sets new boulders every week. For training there's a Kilter Board, an app-controlled standard board, plus a campus board and a fingerboard, and children have a large area of their own with a boulder slide built into the wall. The hall was built with financial support from the Alpenverein's Judenburg section, so Alpenverein members get a discount.
The hall is open every day from 06:00 to 23:00 and runs on an automatic entry system. On your first visit you register at the terminal and get a personal chip card, then buy your ticket at the card terminal before you go in. The hall isn't always staffed, and the phone line is answered on weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00. Climbing shoes and chalk bags can be hired. Children under 14 must be supervised by an adult the whole time, and 14 to 17-year-olds can climb on their own with a parent's written consent on the registration form.
The BlocSpotter sports club runs four-week courses for adult beginners and improvers, and term-long or year-long courses for children aged 6 to 9 and 10 to 14. The hall hosts regional competitions such as the Spiderscup Murtal and qualifying rounds of the Le Mur Cup.
