An outdoor wall on the main campus

Bilkent University's climbing wall stands in the outdoor sports facilities on its main campus in Çankaya, beside the athletics track of the campus stadium, and is run by the university's Physical Education and Sports Center. The centre lists it as a climbing wall and boulder. Its rules cover lead climbing, clipping the intermediate bolts up to a double-bolted station at the top of each route, and auto-belays for climbers who have been trained to use them.

Using the wall

The wall is open every day from 08:45 to 22:45, in daylight or when the lighting is on, and is used by reservation only. As at all of Bilkent's sports facilities, climbers need their university ID card, and reservations are made by phone or at the sports centre's reception. Climbers who have been taught can use the wall at set times under a trainer's supervision, and under-18s need a parent's permission and the trainer's approval.

In May 2026 DOST, Bilkent's outdoor sports society, hosted the first inter-university sport climbing competition here, after postponing it from April because of bad weather.
