Storebø, Vestland, Norway
Austevollhallen is the sports hall at Austevoll's sports ground at Kleivhaugen in Storebø, the main village of the island municipality of Austevoll, south of Bergen. The hall's timetable lists three court sections, a mirror room and a climbing wall, which the climbing group of Austevoll Idrettsklubb (AIK), the island's multi-sport club, uses for its training.
In 2025 the club started a new climbing group for the youngest children, in school years 1 to 3, alongside its groups for years 4–5 and 6–7, and the group took part in competitions. Several of the club's coaches qualified as indoor climbing instructors that year, which the club says will make its top-rope and Brattkort courses even better from 2026. For autumn 2026 the club said climbing would start on its own dates, sent out by the coaches.
The club's climbing pages also list sessions on Monday evenings (18:00–20:00) for young people aged 13 and over and adults, and family climbing on Wednesday evenings (18:00–19:00) for children under 13 with a parent who has taken a belay course. These times aren't dated, so check with the club before you go.
Club training is for members of Austevoll IK. Active membership costs NOK 1,800 a year, or NOK 900 for a half-year, and a family membership for two adults and their children under 18 costs NOK 3,900.
