Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia
Ascend Bouldering is an independent bouldering gym in an industrial unit on Forge Drive, North Boambee Valley, on the western edge of Coffs Harbour. It's built around a relaxed, community feel: the walls are for bouldering only, over thick safety mats, and the problems are clearly graded and reset regularly, so first-timers and stronger climbers both have plenty to try. Pastel walls, overhangs and big grey volumes fill the hall, with a seating area under a timber tree sculpture.
A bouldering league began in August 2026 with around 150 youth and adult climbers signed up, each climbing one session a week in set evening time slots. The gym also puts on one-off nights such as a head-torch Halloween challenge, and school groups use the walls at set times in term, which it publishes so others can plan a quieter session. Passes, waivers and gift vouchers are sold through the BETA app, and Visit NSW lists disabled access.
