Brussels, Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium
Arkose Canal is the Brussels bouldering hall of Arkose, a French chain with climbing centres across France and two in Madrid. It opened in July 2021 in a warehouse lit by a huge skylight on the Allée Verte, beside the canal north of the city centre. The 2,800 m² venue is given over to bouldering, with 170 linear metres of wall and more than 200 problems from beginner to expert level, and the setters renew problems every week. There's also a training area with 12 linear metres of wall and a separate, enclosed kids' space.
The Cantine serves plant-based, responsibly sourced food, such as salads, hot jars, spreads with bakery bread and pizzas, and has a rooftop overlooking the canal for summer evenings. The shop sells climbing shoes, crash pads and other gear, and shoes and crash pads can be hired at reception. The hall and the Cantine are open every day from 09:00 until midnight, and entry is cheaper at the off-peak Happy Hour times.

“My favorite bouldering gym so far in Brussels. What's missing for perfection is the renovation of the changing rooms… The staff, route-setting, common area, drinks, food, are all incredible.”
“Great climbing gym with really well-set routes that are regularly renewed, so there’s always something new and fun to try.”
“For children, there's a dedicated area. They're separate from the adult areas, so they're safe.”
