Zell, Carinthia, Austria
The Alpin Center Zell-Sele is the Naturfreunde Zell-Sele group's climbing hall at Zell-Pfarre 47, in the mountaineering village (Bergsteigerdorf) of Zell-Sele. It has about 280 m² of roped walls, 10 metres high and overhanging by more than five metres, with over 60 routes graded from 3 to 10, plus 90 m² of bouldering panels and a wall for children and instruction. The hall has underfloor heating, fresh-air ventilation, a drinks machine and a media and training room, and climbing equipment can be hired.
The hall is open every day from 06:00 to midnight and works without staff: you register and buy a ticket on the Naturfreunde Kärnten climbing platform, then scan the ticket on your phone or a printed QR code at the door. Using the hall without registering first isn't allowed. Family tickets cover two adults and two children under 14, annual cards run for 365 days from purchase, and the hall's notices and price lists are in German and Slovenian.
